Terms of Service

Effective 12 May 2026

These terms govern your use of TaskBreaker (the "Service"), an iOS app developed by Antonio Bortone. By installing or using TaskBreaker, or by subscribing to launch updates on task-breaker.app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What TaskBreaker does

TaskBreaker takes a goal you describe in plain language, runs it through an AI model (Anthropic Claude Haiku 4.5) to produce a week-by-week plan with concrete activities, and optionally syncs that plan to your iOS Calendar. A free tier and paid Pro tier are available; see "Pricing" below.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you're under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping the credentials you use to sign in secure, and for everything that happens through your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, email us at antoniobortone050@gmail.com.

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. Deletion removes the account record and disassociates any past AI request logs.

4. Pricing & subscriptions

TaskBreaker is free to start. Free-tier users can create up to 3 goals in total, generate up to 3 AI plans per day, and perform up to 10 lifetime AI edits.

Pro is available at $9.99/month or $59.99/year (approximately $4.99/month when billed annually). Pro unlocks unlimited goals, unlimited AI plan generations, and unlimited AI edits. Prices may vary by country and currency as set by Apple.

All subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. Cancellation, refund, and renewal are managed in your Apple ID Settings on iOS. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. We don't process payments directly; we don't store payment information.

5. AI-generated content

Plans, activities, and suggestions produced by the AI are informational only and not professional advice. They are statistical outputs from a language model and may contain errors, omissions, or inappropriate recommendations.

Do not rely on TaskBreaker for medical, legal, financial, mental health, fitness, nutrition, or safety-critical decisions. Consult a qualified professional for those.

You retain ownership of the goals you input. You also own the AI-generated plans output for your personal use. You agree not to resell, redistribute, or use plan outputs to train another AI model.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to plan or facilitate illegal activity.
  • Submit goals that promote self-harm, harm to others, or harassment.
  • Probe, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract our system prompts.
  • Scrape the API, run automated workloads, or use the Service for non-personal use.
  • Submit content that infringes intellectual property or violates privacy rights.
  • Bypass free-tier quotas through technical means.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

7. Service availability

TaskBreaker is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability of the AI generation endpoint, calendar sync, or iCloud sync. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. If a paid feature becomes permanently unavailable, we'll offer a pro-rated refund where required by law.

8. Intellectual property

The TaskBreaker name, logo, design system, code, and accompanying materials are owned by Antonio Bortone and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, modify, or reuse them without written permission, except for screenshots used in good-faith reviews or commentary.

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We're not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in that case the limits apply only to the extent permitted by your local law.

10. Termination

You can stop using TaskBreaker at any time by uninstalling the app and (if applicable) deleting your account inside the app. We may terminate your access if you materially breach these terms. Sections 5 through 9, 11, and 12 survive termination.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Italy, unless a mandatory law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise. EU consumers retain the right to bring claims under their local consumer protection laws.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Effective" date at the top of this page and, for account holders, send an in-app notice before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
